What are yours? I’ve been lucky that this is my worst considering how clumsy I am. Slipped off a spanner and the edge of a hose clip sliced my wrist open. Luckily missed anything major but it was a deep cut, healed up nicely though. Safety image for the squeamish (although it’s only a little scar).

Now that I’m thinking back there’s really not much other than the usual cuts and what not. I think the worst so far would be brake cleaner in the eye. I’ve never ran to the shower so fast.

Nothing too bad. A scar on the back of one hand from where I scraped it across the teeth of a flywheel when the socket slipped. The one that hurt the worst was when I hit myself in the forehead with a prybar trying to hang a door in a Camaro. I then repeated that maneuver three more times before deciding I needed to try something different.

I almost chopped off 2 fingers with a saw last summer, blade only touched my skin on both fingers. I have scars to remind me to be careful now.

That happened less than 2 hours after an operation, and the doctor just told me no to drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours. I thought I was ok, but now I know to listen to doctors.

Got a blue nail(well half of it) from rotating the back wheel on a Citroen Saxo to check for bearing noise, ofcourse only had it up high enough to clear the wheel, and while spinning it my glove caught the tread, and dragged my finger along under it. Squish’d.

But also: CV joint boot had torn, everytjing wheel side was GREASY. Put wrench on to loosen caliper bracket, ofcourse slip my grip and hit my hand firmly between the caliper and the wrench.

Close one man, I don’t use power tools a whole lot otherwise I’d probably be missing a few digits...

In the Navy, was breaking a bolt and when it freed my hand slammed into a steam pipe we’d just removed the lagging from. There was still enough tension left that it pinched my middle finger and thumb against it for a good second. Fused the skin to the pipe. When I pulled it off the entire back off my thumb and area above the nuckle on my finger stayed stuck to the pipe. Could see the bone on both. Smelled nasty too.

Was all gross looking and pink for like 7 years, but it’s healed up real well now about 10 years after. On the thumb it’s hardly noticeable, finger is still pretty visible but not bad.

That’s pretty much how it was. I have no idea why I didn’t stop before I had blood running down my face and a possible concussion, but I didn’t. I just kept getting more and more pissed off instead of rethinking what I was doing.

The SRX oil filter is maybe 2 inches from the header. Brushed up against it doing an oil change on an SRX that had just driven down from Long Island (a 2 ish hour drive.) I got this my 3rd day as a tech at Cadillac. That was in 2012. I still have a scar there today.

Was taking the transmission out of a P38 Range Rover, had it unbolted and strapped to the transmission jack nicely. But there was some play in the jack and I didn’t have the transmission centered or balanced particularly well. Had my fingers in the wrong spot when the torque converter snout came free from the crankshaft and the whole transmission shifted its weight backwards sending the bellhousing upwards. My left ring finger was between the bellhousing and the flywheel, lost a nice little chunk out of the tip of my finger.

Other than that mostly just normal cuts, scrapes, and bruises.

I cut my hand really bad pulling a twisted exhaust out from under a car once. I still have the scar 5 years later.

Nasty, I remember when I fell off a bike and scrape the skin off my finger down to the bone, took ages to heal up and still looks weird now.
